EUGENE, Ore. - Howard Elementary School students put on their best smiles for a school "selfie" today.

Sporting matching t-shirts, kindergarten through 5th grade students lined up to say cheese.

Funded by a grant from the Eugene Education Foundation, students wore retro shirts inspired by principal Allan Chinn's elementary school days.

"This used to be the design when I was a student here at Howard back in the late 70s, early 80s," Chinn said. "So since this is the last two years in the old building, I thought this was a nice way to honor the old building before we open up the new one."

Chinn said the retro Howard roadrunners logo is their way of capturing the old before bringing in the new.
