Eugene 4J prepares to build new Howard Elementary

EUGENE, Ore. - The first of 4 school projects funded by a $170 million voter-approved bond measure is about ready to go.

The new Howard Elementary School will be a $32 million, 2-story school. Ground breaking is set for late spring. The building should be ready for students in the fall of 2015.

The new building will go up on the current school property, behind the existing building.

This Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m. at Howard is a public open house for people to look over the design drawings and comment to the design team. | Project Website

Still on the drawing board: new Roosevelt Middle and River Road Elementary buildings. The Arts and Technology Academy at Jefferson is set for a major remodeling.
