SALEM, Ore.--Deputies located a suspect Sunday morning after using a K-9 team to help search a stretch of rural Marion County road for a man wanted for a felony assault out of Eugene.
A deputy spotted the suspect, later identified as Daniel Garges, 38, of Eugene, walking through a field at around 9:30 a.m. Sunday as units were starting to clear the area, Marion Co. Sheriff's Sergeant Jeff Stutrud said.

State troopers and local police departments helped deputies search the area for a suspect that matched the description of a man suspected of shooting a woman in Eugene, Sgt. Stutrud said.
Law enforcement closed down Concomly Road NE off of Highway 99E near the Salem Gun Club property at around 8:10 p.m. Saturday after deputies got a tip about a vehicle linked to the Eugene suspect, Sgt. Stutrud said.The sergeant said deputies called out SWAT Teams and K-9 units to help with the search, as the suspect in the Eugene case is considered armed and dangerous.
K-9 units and SWAT officers searched the property overnight. Deputies also requested a Portland Police helicopter to assist in the search from the air, KATU reports.
Garges is being transferred to the Lane County Jail, where he will be booked on charges of attempted murder, assault 2, and assault 4.
