F-15s to fly over Creswell on July 4

CRESWELL, Ore. - F-15 Eagle fighter jets based in Klamath Falls will fly over the Fourth of July Celebration in Creswell at 11 a.m., one of more than a dozen flyovers planned by the Oregon Air National Guard on Independence Day.

Planes from the 173rd Fighter Wing out of Klamath Falls are scheduled to conduct flyovers at:

9:15 a.m. Fourth of July Parade, Central Point, Ore.
10 a.m. Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Celebration, Ashland, Ore.
10 a.m. Lake of the Woods Independence Day Celebration, Lake of the Woods, Ore.
10:15 a.m. 4th of July Parade and community picnic, Hines, Ore.
10:25 a.m. 4th of July Parade, Yoncalla, Ore.
11 a.m. 4th of July Parade, Eagle Point, Ore.
11 a.m. July 4th Celebration, Creswell, Ore.

F-15 Eagle fighter jets from the 142nd Fighter Wing out of Portland are scheduled to conduct flyovers:

10:35 a.m. Fourth of July Parade, Hillsboro, Ore.
10:55 a.m. Fourth of July Parade, Camas, Wash.

11 a.m. Fourth of July Parade, Cannon Beach, Ore.
11:10 a.m. Fourth of July Parade, Rockaway Beach, Ore.
11:20 a.m. Fourth of July Parade, Neskowin, Ore.
11:35 a.m. Fourth of July Parade, Ridgefield, Wash.
11:35 a.m. Fourth of July Parade, Boardman, Ore.

All flyovers will be approximately 1,000 feet above ground level and at approximately 400 mph airspeed. Flights could be cancelled or times changed due to inclement weather or operational contingencies.

The Oregon Air National Guard has been part of the nation's air defense since 1941.

The 142nd Fighter Wing guards the Pacific Northwest skies from Northern California to the Canadian border, on 24-hour alert as part of the North American Air Defense system. 

The 173rd Fighter Wing is home to the premier F-15 pilot training facility in the United States.
