Family found OK after night stuck in snow

POWERS, Ore. - Searchers found an "adventurous family" OK after they spent a night stuck in the snow.
David and Laura Johnson and their 2 children were reported missing Tuesday when they failed to show up for a family event.
The North Bend Police Department called the Coos County Sheriff's Office for help at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, and deputies checked the area around Powers passable to patrol cars to no avail.
At first light Wednesday, the search resumed in 4-wheel drive vehicles.
At 11:30 a.m., USDA Forest Service staff reported finding the family walking down Barklow Mountain Road, about 7 miles south of Powers.
The family’s Honda Passport had gotten stuck in the snow, and the family was forced to spend the night in the rig.
The family was fine, having gone to the snow very well prepared for this eventuality. A sheriff's office official described the Johnsons as an "adventurour family."
