Jewell, Ore. -- William Jay Davies, a 70-year-old man from Vancouver, Washington died late Sunday morning when his motorcycle left the roadway and traveled down an embankment. The crash happened just east of the intersection of Highways 202 & 103 near Jewell.
The man was driving westbound on Hwy 202. According to Oregon State Police the motorcycle came out of a curve, drifted onto the shoulder, and down an embankment, where it collided with a power pole. The man was pronounced dead at the scene; he was wearing a protective helmet.
OSP troopers are continuing the investigation of the crash.
