Fire alarm at Century Link Building blocks downtown intersection

EUGENE, Ore. -- Fire and emergency crews responded to a fire alarm in the Century Link Building Sunday afternoon. The emergency personel blocked the 10th Avenue and Oak Street intersection while they went inside the building.

Reports from Eugene Fire Officials said that the fire alarm originated on the third floor of the building.

Firefighters told reporters that they could smell a slight odor of smoke.

Emergency crews blocked the 10th and Oak intersection for nearly an hour while they searched the building for what triggered the fire alarm.

The intersection of 10th and Oak st. has reopened to traffic.
