Fire leaves South Eugene home smoky and soggy

EUGENE, Ore. - Fire officials reported that a South Eugene home sustained mostly smoke and water damage after it caught fire Thursday afternoon.
The fire started around 5 p.m. in the basement of a home at 3670 Kincaid Street. Fire crews arrived in time to stop the fire from spreading to other parts of the house.
The property owners are renovating the home, and no one was at the residence when the fire started.
Neighbors in the area told KVAL News that the block was filled with smoke and the sounds of windows breaking could be heard from the street.
