3-year-old boy dies after he's pulled from water near Henry Hagg Lake

NEAR HENRY HAGG LAKE, Ore. – Efforts to revive a 3-year-old boy Monday after he was pulled unconscious from water and not breathing were unsuccessful, authorities said.

Firefighters with Forest Grove Fire & Rescue worked to save the life of the boy who was found at the Sain Creek picnic area near Henry Hagg Lake.

Emergency responders said they could not find an adult who was caring for the child and said they feared that person may have drowned as well.

At least one pair of adult flip-flops were found near the area where the boy drowned and a car was found in a parking lot that may belong to the parent.

Update: Police originally said the boy was 4 years old. It was later learned he was 3.
