BURNS, Ore. -- A former Oregon State basketball player was lodged at the Harney County Jail on Monday for a marijuana related arrest.

Daniel Deane was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and delivery of marijuana back in February. 

Officials filed a case against Deane on April 19. He was arrested for a second time the next day, April 20, for marijuana transportation along the I-5 corridor.*

On Monday, Oct. 22, Deane went to court for sentencing on the Feb. 23 charges and was convicted of possession of MDM and marijuana delivery. He was subsequently lodged at the Harney County Jail.

The Harney County jail log said that Deane should be released on Nov. 7.

Daniel Deane played basketball as an OSU Beaver from 2008 to 2011. Deane's career-high with OSU came against Nevada on November 22, 2008, with 19 points.

His father Greg Deane played in the NBA for the Utah Jazz.


CORRECTION - An earlier version of this story reported that Daniel Deane was arrested for a third time. After further investigation it was found that he was booked at the Harney County Jail after being sentenced for his first arrest.
