Group raises money to help kids with imprisoned parents
EUGENE, Ore. - A group of local women is raising money to support kids with parents behind bars.
The group Mighty Women of Vision held a garden party Sunday to collect cash for Camp Agape. Organizers say they need $50,000 in all to hold the camp for kids at Camp Harlow in Augsut.
"It loves on these kids whose parents are incarcerated and lets them know it's OK, that they're loved," said Elizabeth Thompson, president of the group.
