Head-on crash temporarily closes Highway 34

ALSEA, Ore. -- A two vehicle head-on crash caused multiple serious injuries and closed Highway 34 Sunday night at Milepost 31, the Oregon Department of Transportation said.
The crash happened around 8 miles east of Alsea, Oregon, near the Linn-Benton County border. ODOT reported serious injuries associated with the crash.
ODOT reported that all lanes were reopened at 9 p.m. Sunday evening.
Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash.

I live off Hiway 34 at mp 27, and that helicopter was flying over us at that time frame last night. Alsea is at mp 39 on Hiway 34, so 8 miles WEST of Alsea is mp 31 in Benton county. Lincoln county crosses between mp 27 and 28, further to the west of the T/C location.
That location on Hiway 34 has some serious curves, and can catch someone off guard real quick, as I have seen in past collisions. The worst situations are caused by a driver hitting the brakes, overcorrecting, and catching the dirt shoulder, which then launches the vehicle across the two traffic lanes, typically.
That would be Lincoln County. Â Linn County boarder starts west of Corvallis on the other side of the river.
@Karen Linn county border starts EAST of Corvallis EAST of the Willamette
Sorry, ellyg79, I think the original county lines they mentioned are correct. Further West, may be Lincoln Co., but East of Alsea, it is Linn/Benton Co. See the following link:

I think you got mixed up on which county line you are talking about. It's the lincoln county line. Look at tripcheck.com. Hope no one is injured.
@ellyg79 Unfortunately at least one person was seriously injured but fortunately they are still alive.
