CRESWELL, Ore. - One person is dead and two people are injured after a head-on crash on Camas Swale Road near Creswell.
The accident happened on Camas Swale Road near Hurlburt Lane, just West of Creswell.
"It almost sounded like a tank going through a brick wall," said Rebecca Blackburn, a resident who lives near where the accident happened. Blackburn, a former flagger, volunteered to help direct traffic while the accident was being investigated.
According to the Lane County Sheriff's Office, 68 year old Kenneth Brown was headed east on Camas Swale Road when his blue Ford Tempo moved into oncoming traffic. He struck a red Toyota pickup with two juveniles inside.
Brown was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. The two juveniles were taken to RiverBend Hospital, and are expected to be okay.
LCSO says everyone was wearing their seat belts and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Camas Swale road was closed for about 2 and a half hours but has since been reopened.
