EUGENE, Ore. - Police said initial reports indicated a house fire in northwest Eugene on Thursday afternoon might have been intentionally set on fire.

Officials said that the fire started at around 3:15 p.m. Thursday at a residence at 451 Wilkie St. (between Bethel Dr. and Highway 99) in the Bethel neighborhood. 

The Eugene Fire Department said that the fire burned the front portion of the house and spread to a trailer alongside it. Fire officials said that 27 firefighters responded to put out the fast moving flames.

Officials said that no one was at home when they responded. No one was reported injured by the fire.

Eugene Fire and Eugene Police detectives are investigating the cause of the fire.
