House fire in West Eugene displaces 4

EUGENE, Ore. - A smoke alarm helped alert a family to a fire Thursday morning.

Authorities said residents had to be treated for smoke inhalation but there were no serious injuries.

Firefighters got the call just before 10 a.m. The fire at the home on Driftwood Drive was under control in 15 minutes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. It appears to have started near the back of the house, firefighters said.

The fire displaced 4 people and a dog from the home. The Red Cross is providing them with assistance.
