Man hit by cargo van on I-5

AURORA, Ore. - A one-ton Chevy cargo truck hit a pedestrian after the man ran into traffic on Interstate 5 on Thursday morning, Oreogn State Police said.

The pedestrian, identified as 26-year-old Joren Moon Love of Portland, was taken from the scene by air ambulance. He is in critical condition at a Portland hospital.

The crash happened shortly after 9 a.m. Witnesses told police the man was walking north along the southbound lanes of I-5 when he appeared to run into traffic.

He was hit by the cargo truck. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.

All lanes of I-5 south were closed while a Life Flight helicopter landed at the scene. One lane re-opened by 10 a.m., with all lanes open before 11 a.m.

WILSONVILLE, Ore. - All southbound lanes of Interstate 5 were closed two miles south of Wilsonville due to a serious auto versus pedestrian collision, Oregon State Police said.

Traffic was moving again around 11 a.m., 90 minutes after the crash.

A Life Flight air ambulance was activated, and state troopers and the Oregon Department of Transportation are on scene.

The crash involving a pickup and pedestrian happened just south of the Baldock Rest Area.
