EUGENE, Ore. - A school bus battled the snow picking up kids in South Eugene.

This driver slipped and slided as she approached the top of Chambers Street - and even asked a photographer to help give her a push.

A three-car crash snarled traffic on Bailey Hill Road.

And the 30th Avenue interchange with Interstate 5 got ugly during the morning commute Wednesday.

"For some reason it's a dynamic area," said Trooper Clay Core with the Oregon State Police. "There is no snow on the other side of the bridge north of here, and then all of a sudden you come to snow and slush."

A Leap Day snowstorm dumped plenty of fluff in some spots - and just left moist pavement in others.

How the morning commute turned out depended on where you were.

Jacob Egan was on his way to Lane Community College when he says the driver of a pickup sideswiped him.

"I did miss my test today," Egan said. "I got what I wanted, but not the right way."

No one was hurt in the crash or in another that left a Dodge SUV on its roof.

While tricky for drivers, the winter wonderland was a welcome site for some walkers.

"Just as we came to a stop though, there was actually right up ahead of us, too, so it was just a busy corner.")

"I just love it," Bob Thompson said. "I'd like a foot, just for fun."
