EUGENE, Ore. - A man last seen December 28 when he left for a solo 2-day camping trip turned up alive and well in Arizona this week, the Lane County Sheriff's Office said.

Dale Teige, 52, was reported missing December 31 after his girlfriend didn't hear from after his camping trip. He went alone and did not have a cell phone on him.

Since that time, law enforcement officers and teams of volunteers attempted to locate him.

On January 7, law enforcement personnel in Arizona indicated that they had contact with Teige, who was reported to be alive and well, the sheriff's office said.
