PORTLAND, Ore. - A man ended up in some serious hot water after police say he crashed his Jeep into a car and a house, and then fled on foot.
The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Northeast 65th Avenue and Fremont Street.
According to police, a Jeep Cherokee was heading southbound on 65th when the driver ran a stop sign and hit a Volvo. The Volvo spun out and the Jeep ended up crashing into a house. The home's porch and roof supports were badly damaged.
"I thought that I heard an earthquake," said Kjirstin Wodtli, who lives in the house that was hit. "I thought I felt and heard an earthquake and I walked up to the window and there was a Jeep on my porch."
The driver of the Jeep took off from the scene and neighbors tried to get him to stop.
"I saw him on the corner and I saw people yelling 'don't run, don't run,' but he took off," the driver of the Volvo said.
Police tracked down the driver three blocks away. He was hiding in a tree and was taken into custody without incident. Police say he had crack cocaine in his possession.
The suspect, 34-year-old Aaron Keys Jr., is now facing charges of delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine, reckless driving, failure to perform the duties of a driver and second-degree criminal mischief.

-- "Police say he had crack cocaine in his possession." -- Okay, so he fled, but didn't get rid of the drugs... idiot! I hope that the driver of the Volvo and the homeowner has a merry Christmas and that this idiot spends this year behind bars... maybe it will be the wake-up call that he needs to get off from drugs.
He must not have heard...crack kills.
