'I was like, "Are you OK?" And he ended up running away'

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A drunk driver ran from the scene of a car crash after running a red light late Tuesday night, police said.

Witnesses heard a loud noise and went outside only to find a man staggering out of his wrecked car.

"I heard a loud noise like tires screeching, so I rushed out of the house," said neighbor Travis Moore.

Moore saw a man walking away from a crashed car.

"I was like, 'Are you OK?' And he ended up running away before I knew it."

Police caught up with and arrested Jesse Bridges, 30, on charges of drunk driving, reckless driving and hit-and-run.

A woman in another car had to be taken to the hospital to have her injuries checked out.
