Imagination Yoga: 'Teaching kids what it means to calm their bodies'
Chelsea Knight's Imagination Yoga class gets kids moving while also teaching valuable life lessons of compassion and gratitude.

EUGENE, Ore. --  After taking a deep breath and closing their eyes, the kids in Chelsea Knight’s Imagination Yoga class can magically teleport anywhere. They visit the jungle, venture into outer space, and dive into the depths of the deep blue sea.

“We wanted to provide a place, a class, where kids can move their bodies and get away from the TV and video games,” said Knight.

She said Imagination Yoga gives kids all the physical benefits adults get while on the mat, while also teaching kindness and compassion.

“Teaching kids what it means to calm their bodies down, concentrate, be kind and practice gratitude,” said Knight.

Hard Core Yoga offers separate classes for different age groups. Classes for 3-6 year olds start on Tuesday from at 3:30 – 4 p.m., and classes for 7-12 year olds run on Thursday from 3:30- 4:15 p.m.

Chelsea says they plan to have after school yoga programs at local elementary schools in the Spring.
