SALEM, Ore. -- Oregon State Police are continuing their investigation of an early Thursday morning crash involving a 20-foot Uhaul on Interstate 5 in the Salem area that injured a Forest Grove-area father and his four-year-old son.

Both the father and son were taken to Salem Hospital and were treated and released with minor injuries.

According to police, at just before 1 a.m. on Aug. 2, a 20-foot Uhaul truck containing household goods driven by Forest Grove's Joshua B. Johnston, 26, was driving south-bound on Interstate 5 near milepost 253. For some reason, the Uhaul traveled off to the right shoulder and struck a concrete barrier. After impact, it overturned and came to rest on its driver side partially blocking the freeway.

Johnston and his son, Connor, were trapped in the vehicle and extricated by Salem Fire Department. Both were transported to Salem Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They were using appropriate safety restraints.
