Knock, knock: Beware of who's there

EUGENE, Ore. - Police are investigating reports of exceptionally aggressive door-to-door sales teams.
Police said door-to-door sales are not illegal but that these recent reports have been cause for concern.
"In these circumstances, these people are exceptionally aggressive," said Sgt. Lisa Barrong. "For instance, if they knock on the door, they're actually pushing the door open and starting to walk in before they're even greeted."
Their persistent questioning of residents deviates from a normal sales pitch of someone concentrating on cleaning sales.
"They're also asking very invasive questions, asking people - Do you live alone? Do you work? Are you usually home at this time of day?" Barrong said. "A couple of times they've said, 'Oh, I've knocked on your neighbors' doors, everyone must work during the day."
These incidents are being investigated for any connection to recent crimes, and the Eugene Police Department is hoping that the public can assist by notifying the non-emergency dispatch when they have interactions with these individuals.
Police ask that if you have had such a contact in recent days that you call the non-emergency number at (541) 682-5111 (selecting 1 at each option to speak with a dispatcher).
Police also said that when an individual enters a residence without being invited, residents should instruct the person to get out of the home and inform them they will call the police. If the subject remains in a private residence after being advised to leave, that person is committing trespass and police will respond to the scene for assistance.
My door is locked to protect you not me!Â
At that point I also have the legal right to shoot them, and believe me I will.
@RC95 Oregon law states that intruder must be committing a felony. In Oregon trespassing is not a felony. That's why that guy from Roseburg was sent to prison for 19 months when he shot the guy on the couch.

I am a firm believer in our 2nd amendment and am not one of those "liberal gun grabbers". I just want people to be informed, and also I don't want you to go to jail because you "think" you know the law.
@RelaxThereIsNoGod You're correct that simple trespassing doesn't allow you to shoot someone in this state, yet. (Which is one of the many reasons to support a stronger Castle Doctrine.) But you can shoot them if you believe they are there to commit a burglary. You can also remove a trespasser at gunpoint, and with physical force.
@PleaseBeSmart  @RelaxThereIsNoGod As Jimbo Kern would say, "She's coming right for us!"
