Landslide partially closes N. Umpqua Hwy

TOKATEE, Ore. -- Crews are scrambling to clear an estimated 400 yards of dirt, rock and vegetation that a landslide dropped onto the North Umpqua Highway, the Oregon Department of Transportation reports.

Officials say that they have cleared one lane to allow traffic through the landslide area near Tokatee, at milepost 52.

ODOT crews are still clearing debris from the scene however they said that they are unsure of how long the clearing process will take.

Motorists driving in the area should expect delays, as flaggers are directing traffic through the one lane section.

ODOT advises anyone in the area to to drive with caution.
