Ovarian cancer 'as bad as it gets'

EUGENE, Ore. - Life was picture perfect for Jane Baumgart.

A wonderful marriage, and two beautiful children who'd grown up before her eyes.

She had a career as a nurse, work she'd fallen in love with over 30 years.

Her background included playing rugby in her youth and running 5 marathons as an adult.

But a sudden turn came last April: doctors told Jane she had ovarian cancer.

"He said this is as bad as it gets," Baumgart recalled.

Doctors told her she had one or two years to live - three if she's lucky.

Jane went through surgeries to remove the cancer, but over and over, cancer kept coming back.

Now she's preparing her kids for the future.

"Later on, they want to learn how to make meatload, so I'm going to write down those kind of things for them, The things that they'll want to know when I'm not around, about life."
