EUGENE, Ore. - The snowstorm that hit Eugene on Friday largely spared Oregon north of Salem. Portland saw a little bit of snow, but not much.
Now the tables have turned: Oregon north of Salem faces snow and freezing drizzle Monday night into Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.
Portland and Vancouver, Wash., were under a Winter Weather Advisory through 1 p.m. Tuesday.
"Light snow or freezing drizzle is possible this afternoon, transitioning freezing drizzle overnight into
Tuesday morning," forecasters said Monday. "Roads will likely become snow-covered and icy as early as this afternoon and especially overnight into Tuesday morning."
The forecast calls for less than an inch but more than 1/10 of inch of snow in Portland - far less than the 8 inches that blanketed Eugene on Friday.
However, forecasters said in a video briefing on the outlook that how far south the weather hits in the Willamette Valley remains to be seen.
