SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- A Colorado man is behind bars in Douglas County after he caused a drunken disturbance on a Greyhound bus traveling on Interstate 5 Thursday night, police said.

At around 10:30 p.m. two state troopers and a Sutherlin police officer responded to a report that the Greyhound pulled to the side of I-5 about 4 miles south of Rice Hill, Ore. because a "disorderly, intoxicated man was smoking on the bus", officials said.

Police said that the man, later identified as Juan Antonio Avila, 36 of Denver, Colorado, stepped off the bus and got into a fighting stance when police arrived on-scene.

Police said that Avila refused to cooperate, so the three officers had to physically take him into custody. Officials said that no one was hurt while police handcuffed and restrained Avila.

Avila was taken to Douglas County Jail and lodged on disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and interfering with police and public transportation charges.
