Man killed in Oakridge beating

OAKRIDGE, Ore. - The Lane County Sheriff's Office says investigators found a dead body when they responded to an assault call last night near Oakridge.

A person fishing in the area near Hills Creek Reservoir told a state employee about the assault.

When Oakridge police arrived, they found the suspect and discovered the victim had been killed.

Deputies say the suspect is in custody this morning.

The victim has not been identified yet and the cause of the fight is still under investigation.
