Man high on mushrooms jumps to his death from Portland building
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A man who jumped to his death from the 11th story of a Portland apartment building was apparently high on illegal mushrooms, police said.
Witnesses told police the man jumped without warning about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
He told friends at party earlier that he had consumed the mushrooms.
Illegal mushrooms often cause hallucinations.

I have heard that it is best to stay away from citrus juice when doing shrooms. A lot of experienced shroom heads know that it may enhance the effects to the detriment of the trip OR fall.
This is why you should have a sitter when doing high levels of hallucinogens.
@PleaseBeSmart ---such good advice! Just as important as a designated driver. But, in my case, I think a sitter or minder would not work.
I would put on an adult diaper, and handcuff myself to the bed post. Minder would keep the key away from me just in case I transfigured into Mr. Hyde, a werewolf, or Jesus H Christ.Â
His poor family.... RIPÂ
Must have been listening to Tom Petty....Free Falling. Just very glad the dumb ass diden't land on somebody and take them out too
@IAMHIGH ---so very true! That happens all the time in Nippon.
Grim. Well whatever choices he made or was going to make don't much matter now.

To the contrary, I have PLENTY of apathy for self-destructive idiots. But I also have a lot of sympathy for the first responders who must clean up the awful mess.
Â
Clearly, our politicians must enact more stringent mushroom control laws.
@oregoncraig More stringent mushroom control laws? They grow naturally around here! You can just go out and find them if you know what to look for. =/
@oregoncraig If mushrooms are outlawed, only outlaws (and cow patties) will have mushrooms.
@OregonOrator We better ban high buildings too, just to be safe...
@oregoncraig No. No. No. If they just legalize and tax the mushrooms that will solve the problem. You are being so '50's!

@Durk Strombaucher No, but it's pretty bad if you think mushrooms are a clear-cut poor life decision.Â
