Man jailed after New Year's shooting at Roseburg trailer park

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Deputies jailed a man on a charge of attempted murder after he allegedly fired a handgun at people during a dispute on New Year's Eve, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.

No one was injured. The shooting damaged a vehicle and a trailer, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies arrested Gerald Delane Jordan, 42, on charges Attempted Murder, Attempted Assault I, Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Pointing a Firearm at Another, Criminal Mischief I, Reckless Endangering and Disorderly Conduct II charges.

Sheriff deputies and police responded to the trailer park at 5000 NE Stephens Street just minutes into the New Year on January 1.

Witnesses told investigators Jordan and another man got into a fight of some kind. Jordan had returned with a handgun and fired it at people standing there, the sheriff's office said.
