Police: Man stabs sibling during fight over family finances

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A man is accused of stabbing his brother multiple times in the leg on Saturday night during a fight that stemmed from the family finances, police said.
Dispatchers received the reported stabbing at around 7:50 p.m. at an apartment complex near 48th and Main Streets in Springfield.
Arriving officers determined that two brothers, Dominic Ramirez, 25, and Daniel Ramirez, 23, lived at the apartments with their mother, Dena Rae Ramirez.
Police said that the incident started when the family got into an argument over finances.
Soon the fight moved outside as Dominic chased his younger brother and mother out of the home with a knife, police said.
Officials said that Daniel was stabbed several times in the process, with multiple injuries in his lower right leg and thigh. He was taken to Riverbend Hospital for treatment.
Springfield officers found Dominic Ramirez inside the apartment and took him into custody on assault charges. He is being lodged at the Lane County Jail.
Police said that the mother was uninjured during the fight.
Looks like the Ramirez brothers will be cooling their heels in the Springfield Jail for a while before shipping back to Mexico. Springfield does NOT let dangerous offenders go free like Eugene does.
The city of Eugene doesn't have a jail. That belongs to Lane County. Ramirez was booked into the Lane County jail, not the Springfield jail. Educate yourself on the workings of your community before you spout nonsense.
@Pat H you don't know what you are talking about. And only Dominic is in jail. And just because they have the last name Ramirez does make them instant illegals!
