Marcola man wins National Field Archery Association title

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Ben English of Marcola isn't your typical carpenter.

He is also the National Field Archery Association pro division national champion.

English won the title at the championships in Darrington, Washington, over the weekend.

"You shoot 112 arrows a day from 35 feet to 80 yards," he said. "The better your fitness, the better your shooting's going to be."

So what's next? His dream is to see the world with his wife, who also competes in archery.

"We can travel the world together as a male and female professional and be up on that podium, her on the woman's side and me on the men's side," he said.
