TANGENT, Ore. – A tanker truck carrying milk caught fire early Sunday morning in Tangent, firefighters said.

Firefighters responded just after 2:30 a.m. to Jim Aartman, Inc., a Tangent dairy farm company. Tangent is located just south of Albany.

A welder’s torch was determined to have ignited the insulation between the steel walls of the milk trailer. Firefighters said they had to pull away the outside metal skin of the trailer to extinguish the burning insulation.

No one was hurt during the fire.
