Mineral oil spills along 1/2 mile stretch of highway
EDDYVILLE, Ore. - A cleanup crew got to work on 100 gallons of mineral oil spilled along a half mile stretch of Highway 20 Wednesday afternoon.
The spill came from an electrical transformer on a trailer pulled by a utility truck on the highway, between Toledo and Eddyville.
Cleanup efforts will cause delays of about 15 minutes at times Thursday.
Transit officials said crews successfully removed the oil from the roadway Wednesday and would work to clean up the road shoulder on Thursday.
The oil did not contaminate any waterways, and the oil did not contain PCBs, transit officials said.
