Moe's Tavern in Springfield: 'I'm waiting for The Simpsons to walk in'
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Don't expect to find Homer and Barney sitting at the bar.
Duff beer isn't on tap.
And the bartender's name is Josh, not Moe.
"Springfield needs a Moe's, representing all of Oregon, and the show," said bartender Josh Ledford. "Big fan of the show, big fan of the Simpsons."
Other than the pickled eggs and the sign outside, Moe's Tavern at 421 South A Street in Springfield doesn't resemble the cartoon tavern made famous by the popular series the Simpsons.
That didn't dim enthusiasm from customers.
"I'm waiting for the Simpsons to walk in," said Steve Martin.
"It's Moe's Tavern in Springfield!" Dave Hogue said. "What else do you need?"
In the kitchen, Moe's Tavern owner and head chef Mitchel Hescheles said he's just happy to keep the conversation alive.
"There's the constant debate, who's the real Springfield, right?" he said. "Well, we are, we got a Moe's Tavern. I don't know if they do in Illinois, right?"
just what we need, more bars...and another one just open...make them pay a tax for alcohol and safety programs. Â They get profits from the lottery video games, use some of that NOT tax the non drinkers. Â Also create fines for over serving...this would help keep the drunks out of cars
Coattail Riders
good luck to ya Moe's and thanks to small bussiness
