Mom killed, 3 teens survive E. Oregon car crash

RICHLAND, Ore. - Three teenage boys survived a crash that killed their mother, who was behind the wheel, Oregon State Police said.
Tanya Marie White, 35, of Baker City died at the scene.
Her sons, Chase Brister, 15, and Chance Brister, 17, and a third boy, Zachary Ingalls, 16, all of Baker City, were taken to the hospital after the crash where they were treated and released.
The crash happened Saturday evening around 7:15 p.m. on Highway 86, 15 miles west of Richland, Ore.
White was westbound, driving a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick, when the vehicle drifted onto the right gravel shoulder in a lefthand curve in the highway.
Police said White over-corrected, causing the Suzuki to spin 180 degrees before overturning onto its side and sliding off the road and through a fence.
The vehicle came to a stop on the passenger side, 15 feet below the roadway.
White, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not yet know whether the three boys were wearing seatbelts.
This was my stepmom. I know there will be a lot of comments on the seatbelt thing but really, it's in the past. There are things that are more important than worrying about whether her seatbelt was on or not. She is sorely missed. Thank you for the sympathies. To everyone who reads this, please drive safely and wear your seatbelt. You really never know when something like this will happen. None of us know.
My condolences to you and your family Lish.
thats ruff for those boys my sympathies to them no need to berate her for her seat belt
Perfect example of why we have seat belts. Too bad for the young woman.
Such a tragic story. These poor boys. To the family and friends of Ms. White: I am so sorry for your loss.
