More early morning trash bin fires, Police ask: Same arsonist?

EUGENE, Ore. -- Fire crews put out more early-morning trash bin fires on Friday, and police said they are investigating a possible connection to a series of fires set earlier in the week.

Emergency crews responded to the fires near 18th and Ferry Alley at just after 1:30 a.m. Friday. Police said that the fires have numerous similarities to a series of fires that were started on Monday morning in a nine block stretch between Olive and Van Buren Streets.

Officials said that the fires were maintained before significant damage could occur.

Eugene Police said they are still looking for a suspect in the incident. Police ask anyone with information about the fires to call (541) 682-5111.
