Motorhome vs. tree slows HWY 126 traffic

VENETA, Ore. -- Traffic was slowed on Highway 126 after a man crashed his motorhome into a tree alongside the road.
The man was driving south near milepost 36 when he entered a series of curves. Officials said that the man failed to negotiate one of the curves, lost control of his motorhome and left the roadway.
He was taken to a local-area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The man's dog, also in the motorhome, died in the crash.
Police are still investigating any other factors that could have caused the crash, they said that alcohol was not a factor.
Gotta stay on the inside lanes on the corners.For maximum placement and Throttle out of the curves !

Glad he is ok sad about his dog.....
It's all about track position on Badger Mtn.....
Generally speaking, HWY 126 Â is a EAST/WEST highway, not a North/South highway. He may have been in a curve that was more South facing that East/West, but he could NOT have been TRAVELING SOUTHÂ on HWY 126. In the Veneta area, he would have to be on Territorial HWY to be traveling South or North.
We saw this right after it happened. The traffic gets crazy up there on Badger Mountain/Cougar pass and the curves are really tight and somewhat out of camber. The EMTs and fire dept arrived quickly.
 @lowstrings slowing down helps.
