EUGENE, Ore. - A man 'willing to pay to have an acquaintance murdered' pleaded guilty Tuesday and was sentenced to 20 years in prison without possibility of early release, the district attorney said.
Police arrested Gary Allan Tiffee, now 50, on May 3 behind a motel.
He has been in custody since that date.
The Springfield Police Department said that Tiffee and the murder target had known each other for several years.
Tiffee pleaded guilty Tuesday to criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated murder, solicitation to commit aggravate murder and attempted murder.
