New piece 'booked' at Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art

EUGENE, Ore. -- A new mixed media art installation named "Book 2" is in the galleries at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. The work pays homage to former University of Oregon president Richard Lariviere.

Gallery coordinators described "Book 2" as new mixed media. The piece is comprised of a fabric book projected with a video of a man on it. The man dons a fedora, similar to that of ex-UO President Lariviere, crawling across a dictionary and editing it.

The piece was created by Peter Sarkisian, a former filmmaker who is known for works that incorporate film, video and sculpture.
