State police nab 26 lbs of pot during traffic stop

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. -- Two Minnesota men were arrested Tuesday morning after Oregon State Police troopers say they found 26 pounds of marijuana in their car.
Just before 9:45 am on Tuesday, troopers stopped a 2008 Pontiac G6 on I-5 near Cottage Grove that was headed northbound.
The two men inside were identified as Gregory J. Swenson, 27, and William V. Shepherd, 27, both of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Authorities say an investigation led to the discovery of about 26 pounds of pot hidden in a duffle bag in the trunk.
Both men were arrested and lodged in the Lane County Jail on charges of Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana.
According to the Lane County Sheriff's Office, both men were released from custody on March 6, pending future court appearances.
They rolled.
The man who got busted with 113 pounds of pot in Klamath County in 2010 only got a month for his crime, so these two probably don't have much to worry about other than a few nights on a concrete bench.Â
Another example of the waste of time and money law enforcement uses.Â
@LifeisGOOD007 It`s funny that you should say that. That is exactly what the drug dealers and drug users say too.
@LifeisGOOD007 Yeah I agree more time money and tax payer dollars should be spent on community mobbing. You know what I´m saying?
Yeah, they're likely to show up for court. Not!
they most likely already have more pot and are half way home now.
