PHILOMATH, Ore. -- An Oregon State University student is one of six collegiate lumberjacks set to hack their way to the top at the STIHL Timbersports Championship.

Philomath-native Cody Labahn is heading to the STIHL Timbersports U.S. Collegiate Championship, held in Norfolk, Virginia.

Competitors put their skills with axes and saws to the test in challenges that reflect the timber industry.

"They’re six of the best collegiate lumberjacks in the series. Seeing these young athletes go head-to-head should make for a very exciting Championship round," said Brad Sorgen, executive producer of the series.

You can watch Labahn compete live online during the championship on Sunday afternoon.
