OSU student flips car in Hwy 36 crash
TRIANGLE LAKE, Ore. -- An Oregon State University student flipped her car Friday morning while driving on Hwy 36 east of Triangle Lake, Oregon State Police said.
The woman was using a seat belt and survived the crash with non-life threatening injuries.
State police said that OSU student Nicole Sallee, 19 from Woodland, Washington, was driving east on Hwy 36 Friday morning. At around 7:30 a.m. Sallee went into a curve near Alderwood State Park (between Fernridge and Triangle Lakes) and lost control of her VW Jetta.
Her car went off the highway, hit a utility pole and flipped over, knocking the pole over in the process.
Sallee was able to crawl from the car and get help from a passing driver. Emergency responders took her to Sacred Heart Medical for treatment of her minor injuries.
Another example of someone in a hurry to get to nowhere in particular...driving too fast for road conditions/experience. She's oh-so lucky to not have lost her life, or taken someone's life in this event. Sure hope this is a life changing experience for her.
