One dead in crash near Dorena
DORENA, Ore. - One person died in a single vehicle crash near Dorena Lake on Thursday afternoon, Oregon State Police said.
The driver and sole-occupant of the Ford SUV, Marilyn Gardner, 69 of Culp Creek, was coming out of a curve on Shoreview Drive east of Cottage Grove when she drove off the road and crashed into a tree.
Investigators are still looking into what caused the SUV to leave the road near milepost 2. OSP said that Gardner was not using a seat belt when the car hit the tree head on.
Seat belts can only save lives when you use them... Please use them!
