Deputies: Oregon man used axe to kill his dogs
EAGLE CREEK, Ore. – A man who said he couldn’t afford to take care of his dogs was arrested for killing the animals, according a Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Lt. James Rhodes said the investigation started in November when Japheth Daniel Stalcup, 25, reported that his two family dogs had gone missing.
Stalcup told deputies that he found Buddy and Duke dead about 100 yards from his house, Rhodes said. Both dogs had been killed with an axe.
At first Stalcup said he didn’t know who killed the dogs, but as the investigation progressed Stalcup eventually admitted to killing both of the dogs, according to Rhodes.
Investigators said Stalcup admitted that he couldn’t afford to care for the dogs and killed them with an axe when he couldn’t think of an alternative.
Stalcup was arrested on Wednesday. He faces two counts of aggravated animal abuse and one charge of initiating a false police report.
In November, the Stalcup family did a story with KATU about their slain dogs.
"We are taking this very seriously and I pray that whoever did this has the nerve to come forth and maybe confess," Rose Stalcup said at the time. "Or hopefully someone who does know any information about it will come forward."
Rhodes said if you are a pet owner and feel like you can’t care for your animal, contact your local animal shelter or the Oregon Humane Society at (503) 285-7722.
he should have taken them to the humane society where the dogs would wonder what they did wrong, then killed,or given them away on craigslist where some one would have taken and sold them for money to a lab,not a labrador

This reminds me of "Old Yeller", never seen Arliss as a psychopath, just a young man that recognized his responsibility to the dog.

This person is a psychopath. His wife should take their children and leave now. Neighbors of this man should keep a very close eye on him (if and when he gets out of jail) and watch out for your kids and your own pets. This guy is one of the many reasons why there should be an animal abuser registry to keep tabs on where these people move to.

Fukushima was actually a mining area for uranium back in the early 40s when Japan had 2 infantile projects to make the bombs themselves.
Teenage boys who scraped those mines (often with there bare hands), often had trouble finding brides, because of the rads and gonads issues that they were all to aware of even back then.

@peace You judge Denny's to harshly, it was my favorite place to study during college, I had the dysentary once, we had just come out of the Jungle, you fill your canteens at night and put in your Iodine tablets, when you drink, you keep your teeth closed and filter the water, spitting out the solids, got a bug more than once, distance was the least of my problems and the cure was as bad as the disease, I, obviously, survived both.
