SPRINGFIELD, Ore. --  Around 100 people came out to RiverBend Medical Center in Springfield to raise money for people suffering from arthritis.

Participants walked one-mile and 5-K courses around the RiverBend hospital.

The money raised will go to the more than 760,000 Oregonians who have arthritis. Organizers said that number includes children as well as adults.

"I have  nephew that has severe arthritis and so did my mom, and I don't think people realize how debilitating it can be," said Jasmine Villigran, who walked in today's benefit.

Saturday's event raised $15,000 for arthritis research.
