Photos: Saturday at the Prefontaine Classic

EUGENE, Ore. -- Thousands of people came out to Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus to take in the excitement of the Prefontaine Classic Saturday.
The event gave athletes from around the globe came to compete on the stage that will soon host the Olympic trials; the largest national champion track meet in the world.
The event was named the Prefontaine Classic in 1975 after the death of Steve Prefontaine. The spirit and memory of the local track superstar live on in the track meet held each year in June.
