EUGENE, Ore. - Police notched 30 cell phone violations in 4 hours during a traffic safety enforcement effort Tuesday.

Eugene Police targeted 18th Avenue and Chambers Street. The department

publicized the date of this and other enforcement efforts in advance

A spokesperson said the following violations were observed in a 4-hour period during the afternoon traffic hours Tuesday:

30 Cell Phone Violations
10 Driving Uninsured
1 Illegally Tinted Windows
1 Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device
1 Unlawful Lane Change
19 Failure to Wear Seatbelt
1 Failure to Carry Driver's License
2 Equipment (No Front Plate)
1 Driving with Metal objects in tires (Studded Tires)
1 Speed

Traffic Enforcement also assisted with five Child Safety Seat Installations.
