EUGENE, Ore. - Four-inch darts shot from a passing SUV at bicyclists and pedestrians are under investigation by police.

The incidents happened twice on Roosevelt Boulevard and once at 13th and Chambers in the past few weeks, the Eugene Police Department said.

"They're approximately four inches long," said Lt. Carolyn Mason. "They are not like a pub dart. It's kind of like a weaponry type of dart, if you would, and they do have a metal shaft."

The suspect vehicle in the Roosevelt dart shootings was described as a dark-colored SUV with tinted or dark windows.

The descritpion of the suspect vehicle on Chambers is more specific, describing a dark maroon Jeep Cherokee-like SUV with a rear window covered in stickers, including a large round black sticker.

If you witnessed any of the incidents or have any information, you are asked to call Sgt. Kris Martes at (541) 682-5182.
