Police: Drunken, diapered man pees all over patrol car
SEATTLE -- In an incident that could elicit sympathy from even the SPD's harshest critics, a diapered, drunken man urinated all over the back of a patrol car Sunday night, leaving officers to deal with the mess, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, the man was brought into Harborview Medical Center earlier that night and was so drunk he had to be restrained to a bed.
Despite being restrained, the man still managed to remove his genitals from his pants and proceeded to urinate on the floor, according to police.
Nurses at Harborview later told officers they were forced to put a diaper on the man after he said he didn't care where he peed or who he peed on.
While forcibly diapering him, the man spit in the face of one of the nurses, according to police.
Officers arrived and arrested the man on suspicion of assault.
According to police, while officers were transporting the still-diapered man he threatened to urinate in their patrol car if they didn't give his pants back.
They didn't, and the man let loose a pee that will cost SPD $123 per hour to clean up, according to police.
The man was booked into King County Jail.
He wet himself and everyone else. there, the p word is outta my comment.
when no one was looking, i would punch him.Â
To be restrained in a bed the guy had to have been a threat to himself and/or staff. This was not a story about a man who did not get a urinal and was left having to pee. This was a drunk belligerent jerk who spit in a nurses face and pissed all over just to do it. Having to deal with the drunk bottom of society for years I can tell you drunk people can be horrible jerks and they don't give a darn about anything. He wasn't wearing pants because he most likely was fighting and pissing and kicking and if anyone has sympathy then let them try and put pants on a kicking pissing jerk. If he was just a quiet drunk the cops would not have been called and would not have been taken him to jail.
Taking care of the elderly or mentally or physically disabled, some just can't wait until a nurse finally shows up to help them to a restroom or to bring them a urinal. A person who is intoxicated is the same, when they have to go, they have to go. Sounds to me like the man got fed up and went the only place he could. Though he could have handled his mouth a little better. I have been in ER and witnessed the elderly or disabled being left for hours without being given the call button. and then to have it reported on TV. No pants? Was this just to further his humiliation? I have spoken with ER patients who claim they were never given the call button and ended hurting themselves getting up to go to the restroom, when you have to go you should not be humiliated with urinating all over yourself because you are understaffed. I know this happens to elderly in nursing facilities, being left on the toilet for over an hour and when reported to authorities, they were told they should just sit there and wait until an employee finally shows up. This just disgusts me. This is neither news nor entertainment.
$123 dollars! Why the heck can't the civil servants (Police) clean it up? Are they too good to clean up a little urine? Nurses deal with this crap day in and day out, they seem to manage just fine. But big strong police officers can't clean their own patrol car?Bunch of little girls!
Hook his pee pee catheter up to his mouth. That will teach him a lesson.
I wonder if this guy knows the woman who called 911 on herself, Darlene Huntley. It would be a match made in heaven.
 @mackenzie0158 They could be related to the trio of meth heads in Lyons.
LOL, the only thing that could have made this article any more ridiculous is if he was wearing a diaper before the police got involved. Even if he doesn't get any jail time for his behavior, they should release his name and mugshot... ;-}
another feel good story
man one of the nurses should have poked him with some happy juice and knocked him out...or sign him up for a rectal exam=)
@IAMHIGH: He'd probably have taken a dump on the floor as well.
$123 per hour to clean up pee but schools don't have enough money to educate our kids properly? I think some priorities need to be re-evaluated!
@Jess Stafford
 ---I don't know about that. I might pay $123 NOT to have to clean it up.
Best solution is to not clean it, hermetically seal the back seat area, and only open it for putting meth heads in it for a ride downtown. Their carpets smell like pee anyways
@peace   And you know this how?????  :)
@jonsies-- lived in Roseburg too long. I should have said that they leave their carpets smelling like cat pee for the next chump tenant that moves in. Slumlords are just the byproduct of these meth heads. I will give you addresses along the Umpqua R. of meth labs that blew up. It's an open secret.
drunks and booze is legal and pot is a felony
@censoredirawoody ---always a good point to make. Even skunk weed smells a lot better than the back of that police car.
@peace  Try sitting in the filthly dirty Jerry's Taxi's. The seats look like they are covered with vomit, urine and semen.Â
@jonsies ---thanks for the fair warning! You do me a solid, I'll do you a solid.
KVAL, just to let you know, "peeing" is a slang term, and maybe because the guy was wearing diapers doesn't mean you should be infantile enough to use a word which five years use....
@calmplexx ---I tried to type the P-word with two Ss on my last comment---would not be accepted. KVAL has their standards OR they can't spell urinate...because they never graduated from kindergarten?
 @calmplexx And using "urinating" would have somehow made the article less ridiculous? Maybe they should have used "micturating"?
@XoztedMama @calmplexx ---I always liked the word expectorating as a fancy word for spitting.Â
 @calmplexx Just an FYI. Michael Harthorne is a reporter for KOMO TV in Seattle so KVAL did not write the article where the slang term pee's and peed was used. The fact is, it was the suspect that said he "didn't care where, or, who he peed on"
